Give Today to Give Homeless Animals Second Chances

Hi-Tor Animal Care Center is the only open admission, nonprofit animal shelter in Rockland County. We have worked tirelessly on behalf of our community since 1973 to give the county’s homeless animal population a new future, one in which they find new homes, new lives, and new families.

The shelter has a small, dedicated staff supplemented by committed volunteers who spend working and non-working hours tending to, and loving, the animals in our care. While our staff is small, our operations are expansive, reaching every corner of the County - 24 hours a day, 365 days a year - and often outpace our financial ability to provide the necessary care to maintain the health and safety of our homeless animals. Our contracts provide less than half of our annual operating expenses.

This is where you, our generous community, have always intervened. Time and time again your charitable givings have helped us bridge the gap between our expenses and the care needed for our animals. You, along with our staff and volunteers, are the lifeblood of the shelter.

In order to continue providing this level of care we continue to rely on you, our lifeblood, and your generous contributions to bridge the gap in our budget and our operational expenses.

As of November 2019 Hi Tor has spent

• $95,000 in medical care
• $105,000 in our Spay and Neuter programs
• $55,000 in Medical Supplies
• $12,500 in Kennel Supplies
